Plain-English answers to the most common questions about how BirdieRival sends your tournament winnings — and why we use Stripe to do it.
Stripe is an industry-standard payment processor — the same one used by Lyft, Shopify, Amazon, and tens of thousands of other businesses. They handle moving money between banks, verifying identities, and meeting financial regulations. BirdieRival uses Stripe to send your tournament winnings directly to your bank account.
Three reasons: security (bank-grade encryption and authentication), regulatory compliance (US money-transmission laws require a registered processor — we'd be breaking the law if we tried to handle this ourselves), and speed (winnings can land in your account in 1–2 business days, not weeks).
Yes. Stripe is a regulated financial entity, processes over a trillion dollars a year for businesses, and is audited to the same standards as your bank. Importantly: BirdieRival never has access to your bank credentials. All sensitive data is entered directly into Stripe's hosted form, then sent straight to Stripe — we never see your bank login, routing number, or any of it. Want to verify? When you set up payouts, Stripe hosts a short form that asks for your legal name, date of birth, the last 4 digits of your SSN (for identity verification, required by US law), your bank routing number, and your bank account number. The whole thing takes about 2 minutes. Everything is entered on Stripe's hosted page, not on BirdieRival.
After a tournament finalizes, Stripe processes the transfer and the money typically lands in your bank account within 1–2 business days. (Sometimes a few hours, occasionally a beat slower if it lands on a weekend or US bank holiday.) You'll see the transfer appear in your payouts history on your profile page.
Email info@birdierival.com and we'll sort it out. Stripe's own support is great for account-specific questions like lost login or identity-verification delays, but for anything about BirdieRival tournaments, prizes, or your account here, we're the right team.
It takes about 2 minutes — you're taken straight to Stripe's secure form.
